Loraine Perkins

I began my career in Health & Safety in 1996. The turning point in my career was working alongside one of the UK’s foremost Health & Safety practitioners, specialising in “working with computers”, whose work helped shape what became the Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992. Through this mentoring, I developed a deep and lasting expertise in DSE assessments and ergonomics, believing compliance should never be a tick-box exercise, it should actively improve comfort, wellbeing and everyday working life.

Ruth Nicholls

I graduated from university with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Biological Sciences and spent 10 years in the field of scientific testing. I then spent a further 10 years working in the pharmaceutical industry, taking on a training role later in this career. A career change led me into the world of Health & Safety, and I have been part of the senior management team at DSE Assessments Limited since 2009.

I had previously completed my DSE Assessor qualification 5 years ago (with a different provider) and was attending Loraine’s course as a refresher, however the two courses were very different experiences with DSE Assessments Ltd coming out on top.
